So true. I've even set a timer...

The timer is so helpful! I used to have a daily limit for my facebook newsfeed and it was such a relief when the screen would disable and that happy little message "you've met your daily limit!" would flash across the screen, freeing me from my zombie scrolling! You really can get everything you need to done in a very short time if you set your mind to it

I'm ready to jump ship and go back to IRC, been on the internet for years and all social media has become is this walled garden. As an experimental electronic artist, I can't deal with the lack of listeners. It's like putting your soul in a place for strangers to find and they just pass you by. How depressing. Social media was never about the music, it was about money and influence. I don't think we're going to get past those two.

I hear you. I'm more picky these days. Use it for a purpose and don't get sucked into stuff that drains your valuable time and energy. I am reading the book Facts and Other Lies, which reminded me that the www was invented in 1989. Doesn't seem that long ago. For songwriters and musos it quickly became a huge game changer for those who figured out how to use it.

Using social media intentionally and being open to the good stuff is so powerful. YOU, my friend, are a superb writer, musician, and human being.
